I was going to announce the results of the su:m37 giveaway yesterday, but... I'm dealing with a pesky health issue this weekend and will be out of commission until Wednesday, or so.

Today let's talk about nasal hair.
Yep, you heard me right. Nose. Hair.

To be honest I had never even paid any attention to my nose hair. Did I even have any? My hair is so light in color and so fine that it's barely visible as it is.

But apparently, them Japanese folk have a nose hair complex. At Daiso you can get special nasal hair scissors, drugstores carry nose hair trimmers, and if cutting and trimming doesn't do it for you, you can get the inner bits of your nose waxed. Yep. Waxed.


Tak uczciwie, to nigdy nawet nie przygladalam sie moim wloskom w nosie. Czy ja nawet je mialam? Moje wlosy sa tak delikatne i tak transparentne, ze prawie wcale ich nie widac.

Ale Japonczycy maja chyba kompleks wloskow nosowych. W Daiso sa specjalne nozyczyki do podcinania tychze, a w kazdej drogerii mozna kupic specjalne narzedzia do karczowania wlosow w nosie.
Ale jesli podcinanie i karczowanie to nie dla ciebie, to mozna je sobie usunac woskiem. Yep. Woskiem. W nosie.

I didn't even know it was possible until I got invited to participate in a complimentary nose waxing session at BeautiQ.

Nie wiedzialam nawet, ze wnetrze nosa mozna traktowac woskiem, dopoki nie zostalam zaproszona na gratisowa sesje w BeautiQ.

BeautiQ stands for "beauty" and "quick" and is a very functional, very professional and very efficient beauty salon right in the heart of Tokyo. In fact, it is just a short walk from the esthetic medicine office where I get my botox shots. It's also walking distance to Omotesando Hills for a bit of shopping.

BeautiQ to combinacja slow "beauty" - piekno i "quick" czyli szybko. Jest to bardzo prosty i bardzo funkcjonalny salon kosmetyczny (nie mylic z salonem medycyny estetycznej) w samym srodku Tokio. Jak sie okazalo jest on jakies 5 minut spacerkiem od gabinetu medycyny estetycznej, gdzie traktuja mnie botoxem i laserem. Jest rowniez blisko Omotesando Hills (jakies 10 minut na piechote).

BeautiQ has an English language webpage, and the three ladies that work at the salon all speak English.
And in addition to the nose hair waxing (for which BeautiQ is somewhat famous, as I found out the day I was there), the salon offers all the standard skincare and beauty treatments. What it doesn't offer though is the pretense of luxury. For that you should go to the KohGenDo salon in Azabu Juban.

At BeautiQ you get stuff done, but you won't be overly pampered.
Need a quick wax here and there? Then BeautiQ is your place. They do other body parts, not just noses. I'm planning to get my eyebrows done there once they grow back a bit. I'm so sick and tired of the Russian stewardess style circa 1980s that browbars at upscale department stores insist on giving me. Yeah, I know I'm a Slavic-looking white woman. But that doesn't mean you have to make me look like a cut rate hooker from Brighton Beach. So I'm hoping that the ladies at BeautiQ can work some magic on my brows next time.

W BeautiQ zrobia co maja zrobic, zrobia to sprawnie i dokladnie, ale nie bedzie tam ani swiec, ani indyjskiej muzyki z glosnikow, ani drinkow podawanych na tacy (bo w takich salonach kosmetycznych tez swojego czasu bylam).
Potrzebujesz szybkiego wosku tu i owdzie? BeautiQ jest dla ciebie. Robia tez i inne czesci ciala, nie tylko nosy. Mam zamiar pojsc tam po brwi, jak mi one troche odrosna i jak bede nastepnym razem w Tokio. Mam juz dosyc tego co robia mi paniusie w browbarach ekskluzywnych marek w ekskluzywnych mallach, bo zawsze potem mam luczki jak sowiecka stewardesa z lat 80-tych. No, ja wiem, ze wygladam na slowiansko. Ale to nie znaczy, ze trzeba mi robic brewki, ktorych nie powstydzilaby sie uliczna prostytutka z Brighton Beach.
Wiec mam nadzieje, ze nastepnym razem panie w BeautiQ ogarna troche ksztalt moich brwi.

10 minute facial massage and a cleansing treatment will set you back 1000 yen. 30 minutes? 3000 yen.
And let me tell you, the massage was divine (I paid for it, only the nasal hair removal was a freebie).

Just like at a Japanese fast food joint, you select your desired service using a booking and payment machine. If you can't read Japanese, don't worry, one of the ladies there can help you. But beware, they are very skilled upsellers :-)

Even though the machine takes only cash, you can still pay with a credit card. They have this crafty gizmo for that:

Tak jak w japonskim fastfoodzie, jest maszyna, gdzie wybiera sie rodzaj zabiegu i placi. Jesli klient/ka nie zna japonskiego, spoko, panie w BeautiQ mowia po angielsku i pomoga. Ale sa bardzo zdolne jesli chodzi o namowienie na bardziej fikusny zabieg, ostrzegam. Namawiaja z umiarem, bazujac na rodzaju cery i na wymaganiach klientki.

Maszyna akceptuje tylko gotowke, ale znowu spoko, mozna placic karta, nawet zagraniczna.

And unlike some stupid Japanese places, they will take foreign issued cards as well.

As I went there to try the nose waxing procedure, this is what we started with:

First the insides of my nose were disinfected, cleaned and dried. Then Kimiyo (but everyone calls her "Kimmy") applied the wax. Wait a few seconds and then pull. Surprisingly, it wasn't that painful.

While it didn't hurt (much), I must admit, it was a rather strange sensation to have a popsicle stick stuck up my nose.

I didn't have any makeup on that day, so please excuse my zitty looking face.
After with my nose bald, it was time for a face massage and a cleansing and moisturizing treatment.

I choc nie bolalo az tak bardzo, to musze przyznac, ze bylo to raczej dziwne uczucie miec patyk w nosie.
Nie mialam makijazu tego dnia, wiec przepraszam za niezbyt prezentacyjna twarz.
Kiedy juz moj nos byly lysy, pani K. zabrala sie za oczyszczanie mojej twarzy, masaz i zabieg nawilzajacy przy pomocy specjalnej maszyny.

The massage was divine. I didn't want her to stop.
It was so good I almost fell asleep there.

Masaz byl boski. Nie chcialam, aby kiedykolwiek przestala.
Prawie ze zasnelam jej tam na stole.

It felt simply wonderful. I am used to massaging my face by myself, so it was super nice to have someone do it for me for a change.

I also had a special moisturizing treatment, but again, it was so pleasant and relaxing that I didn't even think to take any photos.

For a no-frills beauty salon, the service was top notch. I'm a complainer at heart, and here I didn't really have anything to complain about.

As I said before, there are 3 ladies that work there and they all speak English.

Zawsze robie masaz twarzy sama, wiec byla to niesamowicie przyjemna odmiana miec kogos, kto robil to dla mnie.
Mialam rowniez zabieg nawilzajacy, ale znowu byl tak relaksujacy, ze zapomnialam o robieniu zdjec.
Jak na salon no-frills, obsluga klienta byla na japonskim poziomie. Ja lubie narzekac, ale w BeautiQ nie bylo sie do czego przyczepic. Wszystko poszlo szybko i sprawnie i bardzo komfortowo.
I jak juz wspominalam, panie kosmetyczki mowia po angielsku.

Due to frequent quality control issues with Benton products (they are under-preserved) and the attitude the company takes when said issues are brought to its attention, I am going to pass on Benton. 
Any Benton samples I get with other online purchases immediately land in the garbage.



I don't understand why so many beauty bloggers refuse to admit if the product they are reviewing came as a freebie, or if they bought it themselves. What's the big deal?
I learned to read between the lines of some blog posts, and I stopped reading certain blogs altogether. Because, seriously, what's the point? I want an honest opinion, and not a fake "great" review.
And seriously, what's the big deal in stating clearly "hey, I got this product for review purposes." See? It wasn't that hard. 
And if you are notorious for writing fake reviews (like certain Polish beauty bloggebrities I stopped reading, but still follow on Instagram for amusement purposes), you don't even have to add that "but the opinions presented are my own."

There are also bloggers that prefer to buy a product, even though a company offers them stuff for free, because they want to be as unbiased as possible. Fanserviced is one of those bloggers, and even though we have different tastes in skincare, I love reading her very in-depth (and very entertaining too!) reviews.

OK, but where was I?
Ah yes, freebies.

Nie rozumiem dlaczego dla tak wielu blogerek kosmetyczno-urodowych przyznanie sie do faktu, ze dany produkt otrzymaly w ramach wspolpracy jest tak niesamowicie trudnym zadaniem. Skad ten problem?
Wiele recenzji czytam pomiedzy liniami, a niektore blogi przestalam czytac calkowicie. No bo po co? Ja oczekuje rzetelnych informacji, a nie przyklaskiwania firmie od ktorej pochodzi dany kosmetyk.
I naprawde nie wiem skad taki problem aby napisac "ten produkt recenzuje w ramach wspolpracy."
I jesli twoje recenzje to laurki dla firm sponsorujacych, nie musisz nawet dodawac, ze "ale opinie tu przedstawione sa moje."

Sa tez blogerki, ktore wola kupic dany produkt, pomimo iz firmy oferuja im kosmetyki za darmo. Robia to aby ich recenzje byly jak najbardziej z punktu widzenia zwyklego klienta, a nie blogera na lasce dzialu PR.
Fanserviced jest wlasnie taka blogerka, i choc mamy zupelnie inne upodobania kosmetyczne, to czytam jej recenzje z ciekawoscia.

Ale wracamy do tematu.

Today I am going to review a freebie.
I admit, I would have never purchased this product on my own. Why?
One word.
Benton.

After following the Benton drama in 2014 (contaminated products and a less than stellar company response), I decided to steer clear of all things with the Benton label. Just to be safe.

Yet them innertubes raved with wild enthusiasm and bubbled with excitement whenever a Benton product was mentioned. "Holy grail," they said. "Saved my skin," they said.
So, needles to say, I was curious. Very curious.

Dzis bedzie wlasnie o kosmetyku otrzymanym od firmy do recenzowania.
Przyznam sie, ze sama z siebie bym go nie kupila.
Dlaczego?
Jedno slowo.
Benton.

Sledzilam caly dramat bentonowy w zeszlym roku (skazone produkty i malo zachecajace zachowanie firmy), i postanowilam trzymac sie od Bentona z daleka. Tak dla bezpieczenstwa.

Ale trzeba by byc slepym i zyc pod kamieniem w innej galaktyce, aby nie wpasc w sieci na zachwycajace recenzje kosmetykow pielegnacyjnych spod znaku Benton.
"Kosmetyk wszechczasow" jedni pisza. "Uratowalo moja cere" pisza inni.
Wiec to oczywiste, ze bylam ciekawa. Bardzo ciekawa.

But then there was this small detail of snail secretion filtrate. The way it's harvested is as far from ethical treatment of animals as you can get.
And one more detail. I had tried a snail product in the past and had a nasty reaction. But whether it was due to the snail stuff, or other ingredients, that I really don't know.

But I was curious.
I wouldn't be me if I wasn't.

So when Jolse offered me this Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner for review purposes, I thought "now, here's my chance to find out for myself what this thing is and what it does."

I've had it for almost a month now and I am ready to give you my honest, unbiased opinion.


Bylo jeszcze jedno male "ale". Kwestia sluzu slimaka. Sposob w jaki jest on zbierany na skale przemyslowa jest tak daleki od humanitarnego traktowania zwierzat, ze juz dalej byc nie moze.
I jeszcze jedno "ale". Probowalam slimaczego produktu juz w przeszlosci i mialam malo przyjemna reakcje. Ale czy sluz byl tego przyczyna, czy moze inne skladniki, tego nie jestem pewna.

Oczywiste wiec, ze bylam bardzo ciekawa. Taka moja natura.

Wiec kiedy Jolse zaoferowalo mi butelke Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner do recenzji, pomyslalam sobie "no w koncu, teraz i ja bede mogla sprawdzic na wlasnej skorze co to za cudo."

Mam ja juz niemal od miesiaca i teraz czas na moja opinie. Bez lukru i lizustwa.

The 200 ml bottle came sealed in clear plastic.

A bilingual (English and Korean) instruction manual on a separate piece of paper was scotch taped to the back.
It told you to apply the product on a clean face either with your hand, or with a cotton pad, and wait until fully absorbed into the skin. It warned you not to attempt to put any leftover, unused lotion from your hand back into the bottle. (duh! people really do that?)

It also provided the url of the manufacturer's home page.

The front of the bottle has a short blurb about the toner, claiming that it's suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and trouble prone. It proudly states that instead of water, it contains aloe leaf extract as its main ingredient. And oh yeah, that snail secretion filtrate and BHA.

BHA in this case means salicylic acid.
Salicylic acid for all skin types?
Really?

The full ingredient list was printed on the back. In English.

Na przodzie butelki widnieje krotki opis tonera, wraz z zapewnieniem, ze jest to produkt nadajacy sie do wszystkich rodzajow cer, w tym rowniez wrazliwych i sklonnych do wypryskow. Jest tez dumna informacja, ze kosmetyk ten zawiera ekstrakt z lisci aloesu zamiast wody jako glowny skladnik. O, i jest tez wzmianka o sluzie slimaka i BHA.

W tym przypadku BHA to kwas salicylowy.

When you unscrew the cap (seriously? a screw cap? what century is this? a snap flip top please! This is 2015!), you can see that the bottle opening is protected by a silver seal:

The toner itself is a clear, but slightly viscous (but just a tiny bit, enough to tell it's not water) liquid without any discernible smell.

Sam toner jest przezroczystym plynem, ale ciut bardziej gestszym niz woda. Nie wyczulam zadnego silnego zapachu.

Supposedly there is also a version with a spray pump out there. Or maybe it exists only in Benton's PR promo photos. Who knows?

It absorbs in record time and leaves no sticky residue.

Ponoc istnieje tez wersja ze sprayem. Ale byc moze to tylko tak, zeby lepiej wygladalo na PRowskich zdjeciach.

Toner wchlania sie ekspresowo i nie pozostawia po sobie nic.

And here it gets funky.

I have dry, sensitive skin. The label says "for all skin types".
NOT!!!

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner dried me out to the point of tears. My skin screamed and begged for moisture. Salicylic acid and dry skin do not mix.

I tutaj sprawa sie komplikuje.
Ja mam sucha, wrazliwa cere. Opis producenta twierdzi, ze "dla wszystkich rodzajow."
Nieprawda!

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner wysuszyl mnie tak bardzo, ze niemal bylam bliska placzu. Moja skora krzyczala o nawilzenie. Uczucie bylo prawie bolesne.
Kwas salicylowy i sucha skora to zle polaczenie.

If you have oily skin. If you have trouble prone skin. If you have combination skin, this is a toner for you.
I gave it to my friend with oily / combination skin and she fell in love.
Her skin has never looked better, and trust me, we use a crapload of different skincare products.

I heard her say "holy grail" and "saved my skin."
No joke. She has made it through the holidays without a single zit. Her oily, breakout prone face looks totally under control. Her skin looks fresh, clear and satiny. She's become a Benton convert.

Jesli masz tlusta cere. Jesli masz cere sklonna do wypryskow. Jesli masz cere mieszana, to ten toner jest zdecydowanie w sam raz dla ciebie.

Oddalam swoja butelke mojej kolezance z taka wlasnie cera (tlusta / mieszana) i zakochala sie od pierwszego uzycia.
Jej twarz nigdy chyba tak dobrze nie wygladala, a uwierz mi, my kochamy mazidla wszelkiego rodzaju i uzywamy badzo wielu.

"Kosmetyk wszechczasow" stwierdzila. "Uratowal moja twarz" dodala.

I wcale nie zartowala. Caly okres swiateczno-noworoczny przeszla bez zadnego wyprysku. Jej tlusta cera jest calkowicie pod kontrola. Jej twarz wyglada czysto, przejrzyscie, satynowo, wzorowo. Zostala bentonowa konwertytka.

So while Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner is not a product for me, I have to admit that every face is different and has different needs.
And if you are looking for a bit of extra help to bring your oily / combination skin under control, I have a feeling you will love this toner.

DIY Nutritious Peeling Mask (for Face and Body)

Selamat Natal dan Tahun Baru ya.. Liburan ke mana aja nih? Pasti asyik ya jalan-jalan. Sebelumnya saya minta maaf karena jarang posting, lama membalas komentar dan email. Terkendala waktu sih, saat punya waktu malah internetnya yang bermasalah.

Kali ini saya mau berbagi resep baru, masker peeling yang gizinya lengkap. Masker ini bisa dibawa travelling, bikinnya pun gampang banget. Siapa bilang DIY itu selalu ribet? Untuk orang sok sibuk seperti saya, DIY yang praktis itu sangat membantu.

Bahan :

Bubur bayi instan ................... 3 sdm

Kopi bubuk ........................... 1 sdm

Garam dapur ......................... 1 sdt

Cara membuat :

1. Ambil 3 sendok makan bubur bayi instan.

2. Tambahkan  1 sendok makan kopi bubuk.

3. Tambahkan 1 sendok teh garam dapur.

4. Aduk rata, simpan di tempat rapat (misalnya di kantong plastik klip atau di toples).

Cara penggunaan :

Ambil secukupnya, lalu tambahkan dengan air dan diaduk sehingga membentuk pasta. Pijatkan ke wajah atau bagian badan yang lain. Biarkan selama 5 - 10 menit, lalu bilas hingga bersih. Boleh menggunakan facial foam & sabun lagi, boleh juga tidak.

Setelah dicampur air, airnya nggak perlu banyak-banyak

Review 

Saya kurang suka menggunakannya di muka, muka saya jadi cepat kucel. Mungkin karena bubur bayi mengandung susu. Saya kurang cocok dengan susu untuk skincare. Nggak jerawatan sih, tapi muka jadi cepat kusam (golongan darah O banyak yang nggak cocok dengan susu). Tapi memang sebagai masker dan peeling, bubur bayi oke banget untuk melembabkan dan mengenyalkan wajah. Kan gizinya banyak.

Saya lebih suka menggunakannya sebagai body scrub, kulit tangan dan kaki jadi lembab dan halus, bahkan saya nggak perlu pakai body lotion lagi setelahnya. Dengan catatan setelah dibilas jangan diulang dengan sabun ya, kalo dikasih sabun lagi sama aja rasanya kering.

Resep ini bukan favorit saya untuk dipakai di muka, tapi untuk badan favorit banget! Sayangnya nggak terlalu ekonomis untuk dipakai di badan, hehehe..

(+) Melembabkan dan mengenyalkan kulit, tanpa body lotion kulitpun kulit saya sudah cukup lembab

(+) Ampuh sebagai body scrub, kulit badan langsung terasa bersih dan halus 

(-) Kurang cocok untuk muka saya (karena mengandung susu)

(-) Meskipun hasilnya bagus, rasanya kurang ekonomis jika dipakai sehari-hari di badan

Tentang Ingredients

Secara umum, bubur bayi merek "SUN" ini ingredientsnya oke. 

Komposisi : beras, tepung gandum, beras merah, gula, kacang merah, susu bubuk skim, minyak nabati (mengandung antioksidan L-askorbil palmitat dan alfa tokoferol), frukto oligosakarida, lisin, premiks vitamin, premiks mineral, DHA (mengandung campuran antioksidan tokoferol, L-askorbil palmitat).

Saya peringatkan bagi yang punya golongan darah O dan B, jangan kaget jika kalian nggak cocok dengan resep ini. Ada susu dan minyak nabati yang kurang baik untuk kalian yang bergolongan darah O. Ada gandum, beras, dan kacang merah yang kurang baik untuk kalian yang bergolongan darah B.

Vitamin yang dikandung dalam bubur SUN ini lengkap, antara lain vitamin A, D, E, K, C, B1, B2, B6, B12, niasin, asam folat, dan asam pantotenat. Kandungan mineralnya ada kalsium, fosfor, zat besi, magnesium, seng, dan yodium.

Bubur bayi cocok untuk menutrisi kulit yang sangat kering dan kulit aging. Kandungan vitamin B nya tinggi, terutama vitamin B12 (tertulis kandungannya 100% vitamin B12). vitamin B12 bermanfaat untuk mengatasi hiperpigmentasi, meningkatkan metabolisme sel-sel kulit sehingga cepat mengalami regenerasi. Jika sel-sel kulit cepat beregenerasi, kulit cepat mengalami pemulihan (misalnya dari bekas jerawat, dehidrasi, dsb).

Lalu kenapa saya pilih kopi? Kopi mengandung kafein sebagai antioksidan, sangat baik untuk mengatasi tanda-tanda penuaan dini seperti kulit kering, kendur, timbul garis halus, dan kantong mata.

Kopi juga punya sifat purifikasi, sangat baik untuk peeling. Tapi gunakan kopi bubuk (kopi tubruk), bukan kopi instan.

Because tomorrow I am going on a short trip (be back on January 6th), I thought I would share with you how I pack.

Basically, it's going to be a week of foils and trial sizes. 

I can't be bothered to lug around cosmetics in full size containers. I'm lazy. And I need the space for other things. Like, the stuff that I'm going to buy duty free, for example.

My trip is quite short, so these small bottles of L'Occitane shampoo and body wash are just perfect.

For conditioner, I will take with me the rest of the tube that came with a box of hair color.

Jestem leniwcem i nie chce mi sie wlec ze soba normalnych rozmiarow butli i sloikow z kremami. Bo i po co? Potrzebuje tez to miejsce w walizce na inne rzeczy. Te ktore kupie w sklepach wolnoclowych, na przyklad.

Wiec dla mnie bedzie to tydzien probek i folii.

Jako ze jest to dosyc krotka podroz, te mini butelcyny L'Occitane szamponiku i zelu pod prysznic sa idealne. Jako odzywke do wlosow biore resztke tubki z zestawu do farbowania wlosow. 

Washing my face is a big deal for me, everybody knows that. I was considering taking the 70ml bottle of DHC Cleansing Oil, but then decided against it. I have foils!

Kazdy wie, ze mycie twarzy to dla mnie powazna sprawa. Myslalam nawet, zeby zapakowac 70 ml butelke DHC Cleansing Oil, ale przeciez mam folie. Niech sie w koncu na cos przydadza!

And I'm quite excited to try these cleanser minis from SK-II, too. Finally I have an excuse!

With cleansing out of the way, moisturizing and daily care is a bit more complicated. I decided to go all foil this time. 7 days of stuff I've never tried before is not going to kill me. I hope.

Oczyszcznie z glowy. Nawilzanie jest nieco bardziej problematyczne.

Tym razem postanowilam pojsc na 100% probkowo i foliowo. To tylko 7 dni, mam nadzieje, ze zadna z tych probek mnie nie zabije.

This BB cream, or rather, sunblock pretending to be a BB cream is my hit of 2014. L'Oreal, made in Japan. I doubt you can get it in Europe. And pity, too, because this is truly an excellent product. The tube is almost empty and I'm pretty sure it won't be coming back with me.

Apparently there's a difference between SK-II Treatment Essence and Clear Lotion. I'm going to give this Clear Lotion a chance. Let's see what happens. And Astablanc moisturizer is a nice all purpose moisturizer that you can't go wrong with. And a few more sunblock foils, just in case.

Whatever doesn't agree with my face will be relegated to the rest of my body. That's why I'm only taking this sample size bottle of Aveda body moisture:

Ten krem BB, a raczej filtr udajacy krem BB, to moj hit tego roku. L'Oreal robiony w Japonii na tutejszy rynek, watpie czy mozna go dostac w Europie. A szkoda, bo to naprawde swietny krem. Tubka juz niemal pusta i jestem pewna, ze ze mna nie wroci.

Czlek uczy sie kazdego dnia i teraz juz wiem, ze ponoc jest roznica pomiedzy SK-II Treatment Essence i Clear Lotion. Biore ten Clear Lotion. Pozyjemy, zobaczymy, mam nadzieje, ze ryjek mi nie odpadnie. Moisturizer Astablanc wiem, ze zrobi co ma zrobic. I pare filtrowych probek.

Jesli cokolwiek z probek nie zgodzi sie z moja twarza, to zuzyje do smarowania ciala. Dlatego tez biore tylko ta mala buteleczke nawilzacza do ciala od Avedy:

Some of these I would never use under normal circumstances (same as with the foils a few photos up), but sometimes it's good to explore.

For other makeup I'm taking the new cushion I'm testing - Lioele Crystal Beam Pact (a nice low end surprise, I must say), Jill Stuart blush, KohGenDo Illuminator, Fasio mascara and mascara base, and a few colored pencils for eye make up. Lips - Lavshuca BB gloss and DHC Lip Cream.

The good folks at LG didn't hold back this time, now did they?

The promises they made were equally grand:

Tak, to kolejna z moich blogowych opowiesci poduszkowych. Jesli to pierwszy raz, kiedy slyszysz o koreanskich podkladach w poduszce, dobrym pomyslem byloby klikniecie na zakladke Cushion Foundations w menu u gory i rzucenie okiem na to, co juz bylo na blogu.

Obietnice producenta sa rownie wielkie:

Anti-wrinkle, whitening, cooling, UV blocking, micro pearls foundation, long lasting with more than 80 fermented extracts to keep your skin moist.

Delusions of grandeur surely, but since this is su:m37˚ we're talking about here, there's actually a chance that this thing might do all that.

Those 80 fermented extracts made me very hungry for some sauerkraut. And then I got lost deep in thought trying to determine if slathering pickle juice on my face would have any potential skincare benefits.

Luckily for me, the beautiful su:m37˚ logo was sufficiently distracting that I forgot about my pickle juice as patting water plan.

Dzialanie przeciw-zmarszczowe, rozjasniajace (dodajace blasku), chlodzace, ochrona przeciwsloneczna, micro perelki z podkladem, dlugotrwaly, ponad 80 sfermentowanych ekstraktow aby cera byla nawilzona.

U kazdej innej firmy bylyby to bajki dla naiwnych, ale skoro tu o su:m37˚ mowa, to akurat jest szansa, ze ten podklad zrobi, to co obiecuje.

Te 80 sfermentowanych ekstraktow narobily mi ochoty na kiszona kapuste. I potem zaczelam rozwazac czy woda po kiszonce nadalaby sie jako toner do twarzy.

Na szczescie to ladne su:m37˚ logo odwrocilo moja uwage na tyle, ze zapomnialam o planie kiszonka jako kosmetyk do twarzy.

For those unfamiliar with the brand, su:m37˚ is one of the high end cosmetic brands (if not THE high end brand) from LG Household & Health Care. Both in Korea and in Japan it was presented to me (and other non-Korean customers) by its sales people as "Korean SK-II".

And one of those sales people did her absolute best to dissuade me from buying this cushion. Mad props to her for that. When most cosmetic sales people try to sell you stuff, no matter how wrong the color for you (hear that, you MAC ladies in Tokyo? You actually said that NC15 was perfect for me! I laughed so hard I had to sit down to steady myself), the su:m37˚ woman flatly said "no, it's too yellow." And after checking everything else she had available, she added "it's all too yellow for you, now get lost."

Dla tych, ktorym su:m37˚ jest obce - jest to jedna z selektywnych marek rodem z LG Household & Health Care. I w Korei, i w Japonii byla ona przedstawiana (i mnie, i innym nie-koreanskim klientkom) przez panie sprzedawczynie jako "koreanski odpowiednik SK-II".

Jedna z tych pan sprzedawczyn starala sie jak mogla, aby odwiesc mnie od kupna tej poduszki. I chwala jej za to. Bo gdy wiekszosc "konsultantek" bedzie robilo odwrotnie i wciskalo ci kosmetyk zupelnie dla ciebie nieodpowiedni (tak jak nadgorliwe "eksperki" w tokijskim MACu, ktore przekonywaly mnie, ze odcien NC15 jest dla mnie idealny, dawno sie tak nie usmialam!), pani z su:m37˚ od razu powiedziala "za zloty dla ciebie". Potem zeswatchowala wszystko inne co miala dostepne i oglosila "wszystko za zolte, tera spadaj."

But as you can see, and to her despair, I still bought the damn thing. I don't know what I was hoping for. That one day I'll wake up with a yellow skin tone?

Anyway, the packaging is very pretty, and the compact itself exudes class and understated snobbery. When many companies go for generic cushion compacts these days (Banila Co, A-True, VDL and tons of others), it's so nice to see a unique, brand-specific design.

Inside the box, besides the compact, there was also a refill pack and a leaflet.

Ale jak widac, i ku jej rozpaczy, i tak kupilam ta poduszke. Nie wiem na co mialam nadzieje. Ze moze pewnego dnia obudze sie z innym kolorem skory?

Ale mialo byc o poduszce, a nie o mnie.
Opakowanie jest bardzo ladne, a sam kompakt od razu daje wrazenie luksusu i minimalistycznego snobizmu.
Kiedy wiele firm idzie na latwizne i pakuje swoje poduszki w bardzo pospolite i jednego rodzaju kompakty (Banila Co, A-True, VDL i wiele innych), milo bylo zobaczyc cos innego dizajnu.

W pudelku, oprocz kompaktu, byl rowniez pakiet z wymiennym wkladem i ulotka informacyjna (po koreansku).

The leaflet missed the group photo op, but rest assured, it was there.

Otworzylam kompakt, aby pstryknac kilka zdjec.

Everything looks exactly as it should. The applicator sponge is a typical cushion foundation sponge, no surprise here. It rests on the inner lid.


Wszystko wyglada tak jak w kazdym innym kompakcie poduszkowym. Gabeczka do nakladania to typowa poduszkowa gabeczka do nakladania. Zadnych niespodzianek tu nie ma.

You lift the inner lid and, shocker!

Ale jak podniesiemy wewnetrzna pokrywke, to szok na calego!

The cushion's surface isn't protected by a stick-on seal, but by a round piece of plastic film. I suppose that in a way it's actually better for your cushion. The sticky seal you peel off and chuck away, but this film you can keep on using.

Now, for the real reason why I'm giving this su:m37˚ Air rising TF Dazzling Cushion Foundation away:

Powierzchnia poduszki nie byla zalepiona ochronna naklejka. Zamiast naklejki mamy tu przezroczysty krazek ochronny. W sumie, to chyba nawet i lepsze rozwiazanie. Naklejke odrywamy i wyrzucamy. A tym tu krazkiem mozemy chronic powierzchnie poduszki po kazdym uzyciu.
